So my blood sugar got to the lowest I’ve ever seen it on my meter, 47, because I must have over treated a high at dinner. But now my tongue and lips feel all tingly! Is this normal?! Has anyone else had this?!
So, as everyone knows, AIDS, cancer, heart disease, and so many other diseases that plague this earth deserve attention. All of those diseases are SERIOUS problems and deserve to have awareness spread.
There are TOO many problems out there that go unnoticed, and most of that is because it simply doesn’t effect us personally. Would I have ever reblogged this thing before I had diabetes? Probably not because it wouldn’t have even come up on my dashboard! But besides that I probably wouldn’t have because it wouldn’t have related to me in any way. I hope that changes in the future. We shouldn’t have to have something “hit home” to get involved or to help out. Why can’t we just take two seconds to read about something or see how we can help just because it’s the right thing to do?
Education, awareness, and finding a cure should be at the forefront in the media, not jokes and misconceptions. Can I take a diabetes joke? Sure, but sometimes that shit walks a thin line. Let’s focus on finding a cure. Let’s focus on one of the DEADLIEST things to our human race. Can we focus on that please?

Fellow Diabetics,
Has anyone else tried a paleo diet? No legumes, no grains, no dairy, gluten-free (but you get 3 cheat meals per week). I’ve been reading testimonies that it really helped with blood sugar levels and decreased insulin requirements. I’m interested if anyone else has tried it, I’m starting today!

march 11th 2013; the day I found out I had type 1 diabetes. well, I actually found out about two days later due to the fact that I went into DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis) and was out of it for a couple days, but yea. this blog is not gonna be about me complaining or whining about my diagnosis, but there will be a fair share of frustration and worries cause that where i’m at right now, and lets be honest, I’m a 22 year old whos life was just changed, i’m allowed to vent.
I’m 22 and was just diagnosed in January! It’s a crazy roller coaster in the beginning but it gets better! Message me if you ever want to chat about it
Fellow Diabetics:
Any suggestions on how to best figure out your carb to insulin ratio? I’m currently doing 15:1 and checking my sugar 2 hours after meals but my numbers are all over the place! Suggestions are appreciated!
Exactly.

Sometimes, you just need to hear that you are not flawed. And realize that this disease is not a death sentence.
